Fermentation is growing in popularity as a way to create foods and drinks with probiotic properties and as a method of home food preservation. In this session, you will learn the fundamentals and health benefits of fermentation, steps for success at home, and sample some fermented foods after watching a sauerkraut and ginger ale demonstration. You’ll also receive some recipes and resources to get started at home. Join Kristin Bogdonas, nutrition and wellness educator from University of Illinois Extension, for a fun afternoon with fermentation!
