COVID-19 Precautions

Last updated 11/2/2021

The ongoing safety of our German American Heritage Center and Museum (GAHC) visitors, volunteers and staff is our top priority. We are continuing to monitor the pandemic, assess health and safety recommendations, and follow sanitizing, masking, and social distancing standards.

All GAHC staff, volunteers, and visitors are required to wear a mask while they are in the building, regardless of vaccination status. Those medically unable to wear a mask will be exempt from this. Masks will be provided to those without.

At this time, the CDC recommends all community members wear masks during high levels of infection rates in our local community. We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust our policy as needed.

Our building is frequently cleaned and sanitized for the safety of GAHC staff, volunteers, and visitors.

Hand sanitizing stations are posted throughout the building. We encourage all guests, volunteers and staff to wash or sanitize their hands frequently.

We are thrilled to offer most, if not all, of our programming virtually. Click here to view our event calendar and register on

For some virtual programs, we are now offering socially distanced screenings. Seats for this option are limited and must be reserved. Masking is required throughout the duration of the program. Seating is socially distanced.

We are pleased to begin offering some in-person programming. Masking and socially distancing is still required.

Our building rental guidelines for meetings, weddings, and other events are limited to daytime rentals ending at 5pm. Please call us to inquire about our rental guidelines: (563)-322-8844
