Katy’s Imports: The History & Tradition of Local German Business

Art Bodenbender, owner of Katy’s Import Foods in Moline, will share his German heritage through the history of his family business from its inception in 1933 to the present.
Come hear the inspiring story of Art’s parents and their journey from an economic struggle in Germany to Iowa and the German-American Immigrant experience many in the area faced. Since then, Katy’s has catered to the local areas in a way that cannot be easily replicated, and stands as a local landmark and testament to immigrant entrepreneurs.
The talk will be on June 10th from 2-3:30 at the German American Heritage Center
