October 29 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Barbara Kay joins us once again to present a costumed portrayal of a German- American Woman and what life was like for her during World War I. Anti-German Sentiment, even in Davenport, became rampant after the United States joined the war, and many friends and neighbors became hostile to one another. Barbara Kay will present on some of the experiences of those that found themselves in the crossfire.
The program works in conjunction with the German American Heritage Center’s exhibit 1917: A War Among Neighbors.
